ESTATE PLANNING

Estate planning begins with an informal meeting with a client to discuss their individual family situation, needs, and wishes to determine what type of estate planning would best suit their circumstances.  Issues raised range from guardianship of minor children and providing for their futures, to how to how to best assist an aging parent who is no longer able to make decisions on their own.

Legal documents are then drafted to assure that the client’s wishes are carried out.  For some clients, a simple Will suffices.  For others, a Revocable Living Trust would be of assistance for attaining their estate planning goals.

Durable Health Care Powers of Attorney ensure that a client’s end-of-life wishes are carried out, and Durable General Powers Attorney can assure that an individual’s financial and other life circumstances are attended in the event of illness.

The Bar Association has prepared an informative publication on these topics.  View it at the following link.
